Arp Frique & Family at Eurosonic / Noorderslag

C’est Doudou by Americo Brito from the album Fidjo Di Mizeria

This classic tune from Americo’s 4th album Fidjo Di Mizeria fuses his Cape Verdean roots with afrolatin vibes. Americo Brito is a pioneer in fusing styles right from the start of his solo career, bridging the gap between funana, koladere, morna and many other Caribbean and African styles.

On this recording taped by NPO Radio Soul&Jazz during Eurosonic/Noorderslag 2018, you can hear Americo perform the song live with the Family and another legend in music, Ronald Snijders, the Surinam flute player with a massive catalog of which his first 5 albums have become Discogs favorites for crate diggers around the world, incorporating his love for kaseko, kawina, jazzfunk, latin styles and African music with his own unique blend. Americo Brito and Ronald Snijders are original members of Arp Frique & Family and can be seen live with Arp Frique all over Europe this Summer. They both appear on the forthcoming debut album called “Welcome To The Colorful World Of Arp Frique”.
